Introduction
Sports sector cannot be developed optimally without improving the qualification of those who coordinate it, whether professionally or voluntarily. At present, there tends to be an opposition within Professional training and education in the field of sport, between the low-level, barely formalized practical training courses and the high-level academic courses which do not always match the needs expressed in the job market.
There is a full range of professions which, although they belong to other large occupational groups, require a high level of specific skills in the field of sport. These professions which identified as involved in a “sport-related profession”, must show certain characteristics of institutionalization (professional trade unions, specific training, recognised designations, etc.).
These professions, although they often correspond to actual jobs, relate to “occupational frames of reference” which may be different. The forms of “professionalisation” in operation in the field may bring about a process of “specialization”
Who We Are ?
The Academy was established in 2013 as the first training center in Sudan working in the sports field with the purpose of assisting sports bodies wishing to shift from hobby status to professionalism in achieving their goals and to raise the capabilities and skills of workers in these sports bodies. The Academy aims to raise local professional performance levels to converge performance levels International, by spreading the culture of professionalism, ethics and sports values

THE PRESIDENT
- The president provides overall leadership to the IAST and presides over its academic and administrative bureaus.
- The president generally works closely with the IAST’s provost, who is responsible for academic affairs, and a chief financial officer, who oversees the IAST’s fiduciary operations.
- The president serves as the lead fundraiser, and as a key representative of the IAST and its community to external agencies and actors.
- Fostering a positive public image of the IAST

The formal responsibilities of the governing board are: –

ADMINISTRATION
Administration & Staff
- Internal IAST administration is composed of two interrelated administrative cohorts: one is responsible for the oversight and administration of Training affairs; the other is charged with institutional
- Within the training administration, the president presides over a hierarchy that generally consists of a training provost and professional programs managers.
- The institutional administration is led by the chief financial officer and various executives. The chief financial officer provides leadership and direction to a host of administrative functions that generally includes training services, institutional support, maintenance and operation.
TRAINING SENATE
Instructions & Trainees
- The formal governing body of the Trainers at IAST’s institutional level is the Training senate, a body generally comprised of trainers from the various disciplines and professional departments. The training senate and its attendant committees provide trainer liaisons to the IAST’s board and president.
- A primary function of the senate is to represent the voice of the training in matters of IAST’s governance.

- It is generally acknowledged that to be internationally competitive and to meet the rapidly changing needs of the sports labour market, you must prioritise on continuously developing your skills and knowledge to coincide with new and emerging technologies, materials, systems and workplace environments.
